2012 Danelectro basses?

Ive been dying to know when the new Danelectro Hodads are coming out this year. I know the guitar is already on guitarcenter.com and some other sites but theres no news on the bass.

However this site has all of the new models in stock
http://www.moudrymusic.com/store-cat...s_4202353.html

Does anyone have any ideas when the basses will be available?
The new Longhorn also looks nice with the accessible truss rod at the head stock

The new Longhorn seems to look exactly like the last Chinese re-issue . In the past each re-issue has had slightly different features .

( I have a first Korean re-issue , and love the cheap little thing )

Well, the new ones are all made in Korea and I dont think the last re issue had the glossy finish and it definitely didnt have the new truss rod adjustment

love my korean 3 pup Hodad. just looked at the website. i wish they made the bass with the humbuckers. that would be worth adding to my dano 7.

no prior danos had the truss up there. always a BIA before...

So no one knows anything about a release?

Here you go!!! No pix but they say it is in stock. Also shows up at music 123 and Amazon Marketplace. And the price is right! ($299)

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/...ic-bass-guitar

Danelectro website now shows a photo of the 2012 Hodad bass too:

http://www.danelectro.com/bass_hod_blue.html

Save one for me...though I doubt as a newbie that I could smuggle one past the War Department. They are rather distinctive in appearance. Especially the blue!

According to Dano Guitars the last Chinese batch of Longhorns had the truss rod adjustment on the neck .

Nice to hear they are back in Korea .

Truth is I've only had to adjust the truss rod on my Dano once the ten or so years that I have owned it . The neck is remarkable stable , and I gig with it a lot .

P.S. The current Hodad bass reissue has two pickups, not three. As consolation I suppose, both MF and GC are offering 15% off so the price dips to $255 before tax. Kind of irresistible at t

Danelectro is my favorite brand.
I have the first reissue Longhorn and the Aqua 56 Dolphinhead reissue along with the FAB distortion pedal.

I'm also working on a project now putting lipstick pickups (preferably at least one humbucker) on a Jazzmaster or Bronco body.

If the neck is anywhere near as good as my 3 pickup Hodad.... I have not once had to adjust the neck in the 10 plus years I have had the thing, and it plays and feels just as good as the day I bought it.

Here are pix of the new 2012 reissue of the Danelectro Hodad bass! Made in Korea. Got it from MF for a nice price with coupon.

Two pickups. Hums like a monster unless tone pots are dialed way down. Nice bright guitar-like tone and maybe slightly nasal quality in the higher registers.

Pretty to look at in person. Hollow body, very light. I might keep it.

Good pics. I would still love to see how it sounds before I buy one. Is it worth it?

Measured bridge to nut, scale length is 30".

The hum is better, but not gone, with a different cable. Live Wire = loud hum, Vox curly = less hum.
