| | | | 2012 Danelectro basses? Ive been dying to know when the new Danelectro Hodads are coming out this year. I know the guitar is already on guitarcenter.com and some other sites but theres no news on the bass.
However this site has all of the new models in stock http://www.moudrymusic.com/store-cat...s_4202353.html
Does anyone have any ideas when the basses will be available?
The new Longhorn also looks nice with the accessible truss rod at the head stock

( I have a first Korean re-issue , and love the cheap little thing ) |

| | | | Well, the new ones are all made in Korea and I dont think the last re issue had the glossy finish and it definitely didnt have the new truss rod adjustment

no prior danos had the truss up there. always a BIA before...

Danelectro website now shows a photo of the 2012 Hodad bass too: http://www.danelectro.com/bass_hod_blue.html
Save one for me...though I doubt as a newbie that I could smuggle one past the War Department. They are rather distinctive in appearance. Especially the blue!

Nice to hear they are back in Korea .
Truth is I've only had to adjust the truss rod on my Dano once the ten or so years that I have owned it . The neck is remarkable stable , and I gig with it a lot . |

I have the first reissue Longhorn and the Aqua 56 Dolphinhead reissue along with the FAB distortion pedal.
I'm also working on a project now putting lipstick pickups (preferably at least one humbucker) on a Jazzmaster or Bronco body. |

Two pickups. Hums like a monster unless tone pots are dialed way down. Nice bright guitar-like tone and maybe slightly nasal quality in the higher registers.
Pretty to look at in person. Hollow body, very light. I might keep it.

The hum is better, but not gone, with a different cable. Live Wire = loud hum, Vox curly = less hum.
