Wow! These are really fascinating! Rkingly, that orange P is a beast! That looks like a versatile bass.

A fun bass that I had built several years ago. The MiM P-bass
came to me with the Humbucker and dual jacks installed in the Tort Guard. I had the bridge Pup installed as well as the chicken head Varitone selector. The color is Cleveland Browns Orange but I'm a Oakland Raider fan!
Cool bass with multiple tonal options and a few phase switches for good measure. I have to say that there are a few too many things to mess with but she's a beauty and I've found several usable tones. All in all a great little project that came out awesome.

I kind of dig this one:

It kind of has a Billy Sheehan meets John Entwistle kind of thing happening.

Such a cool vibe with the Fret King, thanks for sharing, Rick!

On the 'big bucks' end of the spectrum, Dingwall offers the Z3. This one belongs to Tom Bowlus:

Jimmy Wilson (Landing Basses) makes some short and medium-scale three pickup models.

A TB'er recently took delivery of this custom by John Kallas:

Pretty cool stuff!!!

Chris Stambaugh builds his Fossil model - passive with three Aero single coils. The five position pickup selector lets you choose any one coil or either him bucking pair (two front or two back) for a variety of tones.

Stambaugh Fossil

I'm having a fiver built using the same pickup configuration but a different body style.

i like my bases simple - true to form - as the instrument was/is intended.

you go on youtube and you see all these people hacking away at their instruments, as fast as they can, like they're playing electric guitar in a hair metal band.

i'm a complete beginner (my first bass is probably racing up the autobahn in southern germany as we speak), but i fell in love with this instrument for the solid sense of purpose that it has...which i feel suffers with too much afterthought. that may be just me, though, and if so, disregard this post.

Whoa, are all those yours? Might be the biggest collection of 3+ pickup basses on the planet.
