#559 8liter - Sweet finger ramp. Is that a Willis model?
#560 Chatdawg - That's a great BTB. I've been intrigued with the BTB7 per the last NAMM show.
#561 blacklariat09 - Rocking the Schecter!

It's not the monster that the 1005 is, but it uses a lot of the same hardware and construction features. The big difference is the pickup, but I honestly like the stock Ibanez pickup. I am going to do a preamp swap, though, for sure.

soon to have passive clones of a 40DC and 40P5 made by Aaron (Kent's son) Armstrong hooked up to the pasta of the 2-band eq.
Also, a TBC/The Bass Company that's also getting Armstronged and the 3-band replaced:
A Cort Action V (like this stock photo, but lefty and butterscotchy)
and a fretless acoustic with dud truss rod for confusing me |

#568 1bassleft - I have to admit, I'm not familiar with Jim Reed's instruments. The pictures look beautiful. Which companies would you say the quality most closely resembles?

Turns out it was a Tobias. I wouldn't be surprised if they modeled on it.
The BE5 spec (btw, I wanted their £299 MM5 copy but the English agent was sent this by mistake and he told me I was far better off having it for the price. A used one on Italy's version of CL is €500 so he was right)
5-ply maple/walnut through neck with rosewood f/board and abalone markers
Mahogany core wings with 10mm bird's eye koa top and back
JR badged but Kramer-sourced soaps. They sound good but both are too samey so I'm trying the KA 40DC and 40P5 combo.
V, Bl and B+T boost/cut
satin chrome bridge, tuners and knobs that work and look great but if anything snaps I have no idea where to source more.
I'm very fond of my first 'decent' 5er; the construction is very good the pup routs so tight a plec won't lodge there, so thanks for enquiring.
EDIT: The website still exists - http://www.jimreed.it/eng/index.php
