77 Aria Bass

My brother just called me to ask me about a bass that he is wanting to sell. It is a aria pro 2 precise bass MATSUMOKU Japan. Serial number is G770455 which I believe is 1977.
It is a sunburst, maple neck Precision type.
I originally told him he should probably just ask 50 bucks for it but now I'm having second thoughts about that.
Anyone have an opinion or comment on this that might help?

Give him the 50 and keep it in the family.

I have a solid body Epiphone and a semi acoustic hollow body electric Epiphone made by Matsumoku in the 70s and they are decent guitars (6 stringers, not basses).

I have noticed these Matsumoku built instruments are climbing in value, but still reasonable, around $500.00 in good condition.

These can be excellent. I have a 77 Aria ProII Jazz copy that I love to death, and I had a matching 77 Precise too. Worth a try at any rate, they still don't fetch more than $400-$500. Someday...

Thanks guys! I might just pick it up. Just cause I can't resist an old P bass.
