| Block inlays (pearloid or black) were primarily used on Jazz basses in the late sixties thru the seventies, after that, Jazz basses had dot markers. I have never seen a P-bass with block inlays that came from the Fender Factory.
If you really like inlays, a professional luthier can add them to your neck.
