'79 Fender Jazz worth $4000?

Seller says its in great condition. The pic is more of him than the bass however. Even with the condition grading and original receipts it seems a little bit steep.

I just noticed the truss adjustment is in the headstock....did American Fenders ever come that way? Or could it be a faker?

Unless it was celebrity owned and an unusual color, I don't think it's worth half that.

For that price for a '79 it would have to include the shirt and the hat. And probably the shoes and glasses too.

Fender used the 'bullet' truss rod at the headstock from 1975 - through 1979

I had a 78 in the same color. It's worth at most about $2,000.

That's the only picture?
Without any evidence prooving this is some special unique jazz bass worthy of that price, I would say no.

Send a message via Skype™ to depalm
For 4 grand I'd get a Nordie and a Sad. Forget about this 79.

I agree. Albeit nicely creased, the trousers are nothing special, so he can keep those.

I dont understand people that post adds on Criags List sometimes. Your asking more than double the value and you can't take a few minutes to take some decent pictures.

Beat me to it!

The bass might be worth $2000 if it is all original. $2500 retail at the most.... But that is really pushing it.
