80's Japan Squiers Question

Sign in to disble this ad
I've heard alot about the JV and SQ serial #'s. What does the B serial mean? I'm looking at an '86 Squier Japan Medium Scale P and I'm digging it. It has a B serial #.

Thanks in advance.

Peace.

I appreciate that but I know it's an '86. I'm really asking if they're are any issues with these later years that I should be aware of. I have read a lot of glowing reviews on the JV and SQ MIJ Squiers but nothing about the Bs. Thanks!

I dont know allot about the later models but I would guess they are pretty darn good. If your loooking to buy and its priced right ..go for it. Those MIJ Squiers are really something and I own a 83' SQ. I need more of them thats all i do know

Lol thanks. It's fun to play (never had a med scale) it's in good shape and I'm working him down on price. The pickups are pretty anemic but pups and electronics switchouts are fairly easy. It has good bones as they say in real estate.

I've got an 84 (I believe, I'm going to have to double check that) Squier Precision that is an incredible bass... I keep it packed away & I never use it anymore; I'm looking at thinning the herd and it is one of those that may need to go, but then I play it and...

Being responsible sucks.

My 83' SQ is built as good as any MIA P bass I have had or played and sounds just as good. Like I said there are some still out there and I'm lookin.
