'94 Fender Re-Issue Jazz?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking at a loaded Jazz body on eBay. The seller says "This is 1994 Fender Re - Issue Jazz Bass Body. It was either from a 94 re-issue jazz bass

OR a Fender Parts Body That Use To Be Sold Seperately By Fender In the 1990's
".

He also said it's Alder and Made in America.

It has stacked pot controls.

And it's listed as refurbished and I think the description says it was re-finished. It's painted black.

Does any of that sound fishy?

How would this compare to a '62 AVRI Jazz?

He says it has new pickups that are the same model that came on that year/model Fender. And CTS pots with cloth wiring, I believe. And a vintage-style bridge. And a tort p/g.

I'm thinking about scooping it up to slap a fretless neck on - if he'll sell it for the right price.

And, BTW, if anybody has any idea on what something like that would be worth, I'd appreciate that insight, too.
