Accuracy Basses

I just tried some Accuracy basses today and was totaly blown away.

Before me, Anthony Wellington tried them out today!

What do you know about these basses?

I've bought an Accuracy Icon 6 strings just a few days ago.

As far as I know they have two luthiers making the basses (one is the former luthier of Jerzy Drozd and the other the former luthier of MC Basses) and one electronic engineer developing their preamps and pickups (all hand made).

The basses are top level basses starting more or less at $ 3.000.

I'm REALLY happy with the bass. I will try to publish a review soon.

Thanks, I have already contacted with them. Great guys! Wish I had the money for the Icon. Man that bass was a pleasure to have im my hands.

Yes, they are very nice. I have the Icon Carlos Sintes Signature like the next to last

I think their scale model looks ok but strongly dislike their other shapes.
Especially, knowing Lefay who makes a bass called pulse as well. Theirs is a great and really good looking instrument (imho)

But looks or who endorses them doesn't mean much to me, so I'll hopefully get the chance to try these accuracybasses soon!

I played those basses and are top notch. I spoke with Anthony too and is a great guy. I have suficient experience in order to know that endorsers doesn´t make the bass be a bass. I tend to like very hi-fi sounding basses and this one is there. The only problem is that quality has its price.

The Scale and the Icon (Single Cut) are the two that I like the most. In fact, I've ordered an Scale "Mr. Funk". Like the Pulse "Mr. Funk" buth with the Scale shape. Same woods, same electronics. Anthony Wellinton played the Mr. Funk in their presentation in december and WAS INCREDIBLE. The "punch" of this bass is amazing.

They said me that they will have two more models this year, a new Single Cut and a new more classic two horns (like the Scale but with another shape).

They have two luthiers so I think they have two kind of designs: one more "modern" and other more "classic", in my opinion.

I will have the Scale Mr. Funk this next summer

I've played some of their basses too and I can say they are at the same level of other top level basses. Other really good thing are the preamps. You can choose what you want:

2 bands
3 bands with mids cut (500/1000 I think)
3 bands with parametric mids
4 bands with two parametric mids and... effects in you bass if you want! You can choose between chorus, compressor and filter envelope. I think you can order one effect in the Icon Deluxe and two in the Icon AW5. As the preamps, they have developed the effects and are also hand made.

In their presentation they said me that the endorsers have worked very hard with them giving ideas about how to make the neck more comfortable and with the electronics. One of the endorser has been testing the electronics twice a week during a whole year before their presentation.

Nice people and nice job. They explain you all what you want without problems.

Do you remember the Icon Icon with the buckeye top they presented in the Bass Day?

Was AMAZING. They sold it in just an hour!!! I really wanted that bass!! I think the bass went to France...

Hahaha if is the first pulse I think is Swamp-ash with no top.

If is the Mr Funk Pulse I think the top is flamed sycamore or flamed maple but I'm not sure.
