Alan, as a lot of you will know builds his instruments out of Moffat in Scotland and is outstanding.
It is one of his Recurve models but in a singlecut style and it is one of the best made and sounding basses I have had the pleasure to hold.
Full specs are on the ACG website bass number 015.
They play and sound amazing.
I choose the woods and the specs and it is a fantastic piece of art.
I am in good company, as Mr T Bowlus owns one too.
I propose no numbers for membership.
Just Enjoy. |

Once you suss out how to get it to do what you want, it's an astonishing sounding preamp and it is so sensitive.
What bass do you use the pre in? |

What bass do you use the pre in? | I have the 02 version, and it's in a Ristola six string. I've got mine running with some Delano Dual coils. Great combo. |

Alan is a real pleasure to work with, too.
Here are a couple of quick shots:

I've only seen them here, but his reputation is flawless and worth the price, even with a less favorable exchange rate. Forturtunately for me, I have a long enough laundry list for basses that the exchange rate should hopefully be a lot betteer when I'm in the market. |

If you start giving out numbers, I'd like to reserve #7...

For those of you who've bought - what did shipping from the UK to USA run, and did you have to pay an import tax?
Also, how's access to the upper frets?

Access to upper fret? Superb. Not really a upper fret guy, but the asymetric neck and cut on mine makes it really easy.
Oh yeah... |

Almost all of the woodworking is completed and it just needs its lacquer coats, hardware and electrics. The woods have been wiped with white spirit here to give an impression of what it will look like when lacquered.
Count me in chaps.
