ACOUSTIC BASS PICKUPS

Sign in to disble this ad
Thats right, I'm in love with my acoustic bass but the pickup just shat out. IT was a piezo strip underneath the bridge and I tried everything to get it to workin' again but it's not gonna give. To cut to the chase, i'm looking for a great versatile acoustic bass pickup option that's not say a million dollars. It's a 4string Laguna Bubgina Acoustic bass if that helps at all. Thanks guys hope you can help me out!

Look into Fishman or K&K. Gollihur's got K&K from $69.OO.

I'm no luthier, but if it just crapped out, may not be the piezo. The piezo is just a vibration sensing strip. I'd look elsewhere for the problem; preamp, battery, connections, wiring...

Based on how amazingly wonderful the one in my Seagull acoustic guitar sounds, I'd go with a K&K if the piezo in my Thunderchief failed..

The pickup in my Ibanez AEB crapped out a while back. I was unable to find an exact replacement but I did find a guy on eBay selling Fishman pickup systems, the same ones used in Michael Kelly basses, for $29.00. The preamp/control section was a little smaller than the old pu but the fit was close enough for me. Sounds great. So you might want to check ebay. The seller I got mine from was based in China and had several of these Pickup systems.
