Hey yall...I have a stupid thing to ask Im sure...never have owned a bass with them until a few weeks ago.....if I keep the bass pluged in does it run down the battery....I put a new one in and I let it set for about a week pluged in and had not played it(been busy)....and when I did no sound would come out...put a new battery in and it works fine...did the battery drain because it was pluged in or is there something else going on.....thanks

Many active instruments do draw power from the battery as long as a 1/4" cable is plugged into them, so that is likely the issue.

I'd love to have a preamp switch on my electric cello for that reason, but it's just another part to potentially go bad, I guess.

A simple killswitch should do it. Very little added wiring and switches have a long lifespan.

Then again, it's really easy to just unplug an instrument after turning off the amp. I do habitually, even with kill switches on all of my basses.
