Question Activebass Full EQ!(Opinions)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi there

I Got a '94 Stingray 5 and I was wondering your what you think regarding setting the eq of the bass full on...
Personally I'm kind of against it but sometimes I kind of like the power that the bass produces from this set-up.

I know its a matter of taste but can you give me your opinions??

Best regards

Depends on how much boost is presented but I would never play my basses that way!

I play my Ray at flat settings on the detents; maybe back off the treble a bit and boost the bass slightly. I used Black Beauties, and they especiallu suited for this bass and these settings.

From my professional opinion as an engineer of sound, that's nonsense to me!

It seems that You got slight problem with Your rig, or/and PA support?

If it sounds good, it is good.

otoh, if you need to dime every knob in order to get the bass to sound good, there might be a problem. But if you just happen to like the sound of all the EQ bands maxxed out, go for it.

On very rare occasions I've done that with some of my active basses. Usually I find that A) turning up the high frequencies so much introduces too much noise to be useful; and B) I can get the same basic sound by just turning the volume of the amp up and then cutting back some of the midrange.
