From what I hear, he's working on the basses that are already ordered but holding off on new orders to work on some new designs or something. I don't know the guy personally (I just have a bass he made), but I suspect he's pretty tired of the replicas and wants to have his own thing.
I will say that the bass he made me is fantastic in absolutely every way. Whenever I play it, I feel like I'm home. It also pushes me to be better, 'cause I really don't do the thing any justice.
