Adding tone pot to active/passive bass

Sign in to disble this ad
First off, is it even possible? I have a Carvin LB70P, which has active and passive modes, but no tone control when passive. I never use the peizo pickups, so I thought I could replace the second blend pot with a tone pot.

How do I know what goes in there? Sorry for the dumb question, but I know nothing about pickups and preamp electronics. Anybody here modify their Carvin?

line6bassman will help you out over in the Pickups & eloectronics section as the previous poster mentioned.

My guess is you just attach a tone pot to your volume pot in standard passive bass fashion and it will bleed off the treble like normal. The preamp will boost or cut what's left I reckon. I was reading about the Sadowsky VTC and I *think* it works kinda like that.
