I just want to bump this thread cause I have had a chance
to do some recording with the Alien Audio bass....
The Lunar 5 sits on a track fatter and with less effort
the any other bass.....
I have been a producer, Mixer and now a mastering engineer
for a long time in addition to being a working Bassist forever.
Out of the hundred or so basses I have had since
the late seventies this instrument kills in practical use
on recordings and in ensemble work live.
The playability is truly Boutique level and the sound is
stunning. Boosting in any frequency band is transparent
and useful and the variety of tones from one bass
will boggle the mind.

I'm intrigued. Did some digging and found some YouTube videos of a Alien Audio bass owner in Germany. About half the vids are him using a Lunar with 2 P pickups. I think it's a Lunar.

Anyways, if you're curious as I am...

Thanks a bunch. I love it and the double P setup provides a really unique tone variation.

Shhh! I have one in the final stretch of build out and I'm trying not to think about it. It will just show up one day magically and I'll wonder, "What's this?"

Can't wait.

I liked the overdrive demo in the latest video you did. It's a really nice overdrive, not buzzy, just fat. Why would you put an OD in a bass? Why wouldn't you? I guess the backround is that Mo West designed the preamp and he also designed the Mo' Bass for SWR that had a built in OD. I don't know if that's where this circuit came from or if it's entirely different, but it's cool when thinking outside the box works.

My first post about it was "why the hell would you put an overdrive in a bass when I have spent 25 years trying to get it cleaner?" Now I actually use it. It is actually tonally sweet
