All of the sudden my Ibby Sr405 ways a ton and the neck feels like a bball bat!

Earlier this year I bought an Elrick Evolution 5 string. Wonderful instrument. My previous regularly played bass was my Sr405 that I've had since 98. I haven't played it since I bought the Elrick. I picked it up today and the things feels like it ways a ton and the neck feels huge. It just seems crazy to me how different it feels to me now. I find it really strange that the neck feels wider to me than my Elrick, but the Elrick most definitely has a wider string spacing.

I guess it just goes too show how big of a difference the quality and effort put into the construction of an instrument can make it feel and play so much better than a mass produced one. Everything about the Elrick seems bigger or is bigger, but it feels so much more comfortable and exact.

Atkeast I still really like the way my Ibby sounds. Think I might string it up E to C as I've always liked having a high C but never cared much for a 6 string bass.

Cheers and a Happy New Year!
