Am I the only person..... .....who feels depressed looking at all the bass classifieds on here? If only my funds matched my love for music and GAS.. |
I used to cry when I couldn't afford a 70's $350 used RIC or Fender when they were at every pawn shop. Thankfully I have a good job now and can afford nice basses. Musicianary, you are only 24..... Lots of time to go broke thru GAS when you are older!:hyper: |

nope, you're not the only one at all, probably not even close to being alone. one thing i notice is most of the stuff for sale is what i consider "higher end". we need a thread for bargain basement or garage sale stuff. i would love to spend money with fellow tb'er but it's more realistic for me to sit here every day and search through the inventory of every guitar center within 125 miles from where i live looking for a used cab. in my price range dents, scrapes and torn tolex are character marks not flaws. |

No, I am in love with a black Fender Jazz that was for sale on here & I cannot even think of buying it now. But life would suck if we didn't wish for something. |
gear we had gear we wish we had so goes the cycle of life... |
Abondance of possessions won't make you happy. You need one good bass that you bond with. Everything else is accessory. |
When you find that one 'right bass', GAS pretty much dissipates on it's own. Sure, there are always other things to buy/drool over, but they just don't seem as all consuming as before. I still wouldn't recommend selling off everything else, you'll want all your stuff again sooner or later. You'll just feel better about it all, kind of a nice content feeling. |

I have convinced myself I have all the bases (no pun) covered with both my bass and guitars stables. Gas is in remission, never cured. I have to talk to myself. |

I never get depressed over looking at ads or depressed for any reason for that matter. I sometimes see a bass and think that it would be nice to have but I don't really need it. I am very happy with my current basses and would rather put the money to work for me by investing it instead of spending on a bass that I don't need. |
well, i must be really easy...9 guitars and 4 basses...5 amplifiers and some pedals, recording stuff...at 58 years old, it just seems i bond with all of them...oh the pain...:crying: |
They will be mine... oh yes... they WILL be mine.....! |

I've bonded, then sold it. Now I'm on the hunt, constantly looking for the same feel and sound in different styles. I'm somehow reluctant to go back to a Jazz for some strange reason. Maybe I'm in denial? Bonding sucks lol |
