Is This An American Jazz Body or Something Else
Saw this recently and am looking for the expert opinions of the TB Community.
It is advertised as unknown year.
It is mated to a 70s/80s neck and custom shop electronics.
The pocket looks different from most of what I've seen. Usually there is bare wood where the paint mount jig attached, and usually there is a sticker or other markings.
Any help is appreciated. Thank You, KC
Difficult to see from your pics...
does it have the hump?
Mine has weird markings in the neck pocket...
No holes for the chrome covers?
I don't notice "The Hump".
No holes for covers showing.
(yours is 'Special') :)
It looks like someone put a different PG on at some point that moved the mounting holes by a fraction. Do you know anything about the PG? If it's a US PG, then it's probably not a US body. Also, what year is the body? I know most US bodies went String-thru, save the Highway 1/One and American Special/Vintage.
That being said, it doesn't have a swimming pool route like a Squier or MIM...but that forearm cut looks very steep/not rounded well and the neck pick-up route is a little sloppy.
It does look like someone put a US neck on it and tried to adjust the truss with the neck mounted. Looks dented there.
And what about the hole in the center of the neck pocket...
When did they do that for painting mount?
And the pocket just looks kind of crude with the overspray all rough. Looks like lots of dirt, grit...
