I personally like them.

I'd get a Phantom in White.

It seems most diasgree with me.... but for WHAT THEY ARE, I think they will be just fine. Now, if you are expecting Lakland/USA Fender/ Whatever generic Coffee table... then yeah.

I just found one advertised for $349.99.
They are a 30" scale.

I played one of the originals before. It was alright, about on par with any Danelectro you might find.

If I could get one of these for under $300 I'd go for it.

I like the idea of having a bass to go. It's something that can
go together with an acoustic guitar. Acoustic basses are too
stinkin' quiet for me. I'm practically yanking the strings off of
those trying to get some sound out of them.

sort of a misleading post title as well...

I was expecting something a little more "thrashy" or 80's style

funny that as soon as I saw them, I thought "I'll bet they feel like a Danelectro..."
