yup.

LP Triumph owner right here.

I had a Studio T-bird that played surprisingly nice too, but I had too many other players and sold it off.

I've got a 68 EB3 short scale that I use quite often. Love it. Excellent Reggae bass, too.

Right you are! (note the 2 little round felt pads, to keep my thumb nail from marring the finish ) The neck on this baby is to die for!

Kind of a brother to the OPs SG supreme... Which is quite lovely by the way!

what pickups are those??? Ripper pickups were not the best for sure. A ripper with old 60's tbird pups would be awesome.

The original owner swapped the original pickups with a set of Lawrence pups. And yes, that would be awesome!

Some of their basses suffer badly from neck dive.

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.

O____O THAT BASS. Oh my, you might have just converted me to Gibson! The pick tone on that thing is rad! Love your solo style too, by the way. You've earned yourself a YouTube subscriber!

Great tone, but somebody needs a samich!

I'm enjoying a Gibson phase right now. It is an interesting departure from Fender - different tone, different ergonomics. I am starting to get a handle on the tone. The ergonomics came faster. I think those that complain about neck dive haven't spent enough time getting an understanding of the Gibson bass. To each his own, but I'm glad I decided to invest a little time into exploring Thunderbirds.

Thanks to you, too. I know I'm getting skinny these days. I've lost about 40 pounds in the last 6 months because of some serious health issues. Having a light weight bass like this is helpful.

I have owned several Gibson basses. The best of the bunch is a Blue Les Paul $ bass.
My bands all love that one. The same bands have forbidden me to ever bring out the '72 EB-0 again. Just too muddy.

It is rare anybody other than a bass player has a strong viseral responce to the sound of a bass. So I was shocked at the universal dislike of the EB-0. They play great.

The newer Gibson pickups sound so much nicer these days.

The EB0 can be used effectively in the right situation and not just for stoner rock. Check this hip vid.

I own a '79 Gibson Thunderbird. I actually just got it back from repair (new nut and fret grind & polish) and it's a great bass. Cuts through very well, plays beautifully now, very light weight, and thanks to some Gotoh Resolite tuners and moving the strap peg, balances well.

I got a SG bass. The tone, playing alone, is not impressive. The real thing is when I'm playing with the band...It's quite different. I have two Jazz Basses and they dont have that "presence", if you know what I mean...

I like Gibbson and Eppiphone products. In the very near future I hope to get a black Eppiphone EB3 and a red one.

My sons loves them also; he wants an SG and a EB3.

I thought I'd see lots of Les Paul basses posted in this thread being they are so popular as far as guitars go.

Yes, I want a LP bass...
