any idea what this bass is or what it is worth?

hey guys just got this little basket case from a house clean out guy. has a amplified peg in it and I am told it was from the 1950's and inside the bass it a has a sticker that just says germany. it is a plywood bass and needs some work any idea what it is or what it might be worth?

thanks

You'd probably have better luck posting this on the DB side.

Looks like a mid-'50s German import sold by Hofner and Gewa

I don't know how tall the guy holding it in the photo is but it looks like it might be a 5/8. A lot of the value is going to depend on how much repair work is needed to get it solid, and of course how good it sounds.
