I can only hope that maybe some of all of you TBers are enjoying them right now. Sure miss that 1975 "Chocolate" P Bass, though. Ironically, I still have my first 6 string electric... A late 60's Supro.

Way back when -- I regret selling my original 1969 Ampeg Dan Armstrong clear lucite fretless 4-string short-scale bass, which I sold about 1980 or 1981. I've also sold more than a couple Fender basses (both Ps and Js) that I wish I could get back ... most notably, the 2005 NAMM Custom Shop "'58 P-Bass" that I sold a couple years ago.
I regretted selling my one-of-a-kind "LullDowsky" 4-string here on Talkbass so badly that I bought it back as soon as I had the available funds (about 6 weeks ago).
I've also owned a few Sadowsky NYC basses, and one Valenti 5-string that I wouldn't mind having back, but I wouldn't necessarily say that I "regret" selling these basses .... well, maybe just a little! | kebosbassworks has a lucy for you!

Heard a recording of it a few weeks ago. Really miss that bass.

My "new" Bass was made in November 6th, 1991 with the production Number: 138
S/N: HY06138
The bass came with I think were the original yamaha strings!
I cleaned and did a basic setup... put new strings and its like it never let home... only took 12 years to play an identical BB again. I'm happy!

Both of them were perfect in regards to looks, playability and tone. Sold them for GAS reasons. Silly Silly.

1. I don't have the room for them all.
2. I can't justify owning so many, I can only play one at a time.
Mainly for the first reason.
I would sell all my basses and unused gear to get a Sadowsky. (I can dream). |

| | | | Never actually sold a bass but still miss that late 70s Ibanez Blazer P bass copy.
And the 1975 P Bass.

I had a custom body made for it and Seymour Duncans put in it. A great little bass that I sold for what is now a relatively measly $300 probably 20 years ago to help buy something else. I would love to find it again one of these days! |

I've also recently sold/traded off my two Bongo's. While I won't miss the one I had originally gotten in trade last year, I found it hard to pack up and ship the one I had bought brand new and had 4 years. I haven't even played it that much in the past couple years and it made sense to move it.
I spent about an hour playing it right before packing it and almost backed out of the deal right then and there. But then I remembered one of the main reasons I was moving it is I felt it was redundant with my other basses. I pulled out my new SR5 HH and played it and I immediately felt better about selling the Bongo.
I have two mid-90's Carvins I would never sell even though I really don't play them anymore. Those were my first two "pro-caliber" basses and I went through a lot with them. Plus the amount of money I could get for them wouldn't be worth it anyway.
It would be kind of fun if I still had my old Asian-made Warlock that I played late in high school, but age 19 I knew I'd be a low B guy and I had no use for a 4-string.

| | | | I sold the first bass I ever owned, a 1975 Fender Jazz Bass, Natural, Maple.
I must say that it was the WORST sounding/feeling POS I ever played, we did every possible adjustment to it and it always sucked.
Why did I buy it? Well when you are a young teenager and you just HAVE TO HAVE A FENDER, and your parents are paying (less then $300 at the time if I recall, may be much less) you go for the first one you play.
I sold it about 20 years ago for about $500. Have never looked back, nor cared that I might have gotten more today.
Today I know I love Gibsons and Epiphones. You won't catch me selling those. My other Fenders, well.....

It was a semi hollow body...kind of looked like John lennon's 6 string Ric. Don't remember the year, but it had the toaster pups. I want to say it was a 68? I only saw one other EVER, (except on the net...now they are worth a FORTUNE!). I traded it for a $300 Standell 2X15 combo. I used the Ric to demo it....together they were freakin' awesome. Did the trade (long story) and no other bass ever sounded close through the amp. No need to beat me up and call me an idiot.....I've already done that a million times! Do I win????
