My first bass. An Sx p. It's light, and the neck feels great. Would never need another p.

Well, my wife bought me an Ibanez AEB5E acoustic bass for Christmas. I don't think I'll ever sell it because:

A) My WIFE bought it for me (Us married guys will understand; selling = BAD)
B) It's a great bass that I'm having a blast with
C) Resale value probably isn't high, considering it retails for less than $200

No reason for me to sell!

I have a Schecter C-4 XXX that will never go anywhere. It was just a great bass for the money that I spent and totally unlike the rest of my basses.

My Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV is a keeper. I got it second hand, and it was a factory second to begin with. It isn't cheap any more, since it has been de-fretted and it will probably get different pickups and either a different preamp or passive wiring. I like it enough to spend money on it.

This ones a keeper in my book:
2009 Squier P-bass special in satin wine red finish.

I put some flats on it, took that plastic film off the pickguard, and added some strap locks. I will probably update the electronics and bridge at some point, but the basic neck and body combo just feels so sexy play that I can't see me gettng rid of it. This is also the third version of this model that I've had over the last 25+ years and it is by far the best of the three, so I think I'm stuck with it in either case.

The day I brought her home.

I will never sell my silver series Squier P. It fits me better than any of my previous P basses which include a 1960, a1971, a 1977, (all Fender) and a 57 reissue early Squier. The money from that lot went towards a fair amount of recording gear and I don't miss any of them other than the 60 because of it's current value as a collectors item. The other. bass that I will never selll is my blue Stagg Bm350. It has an almost identical neck other than larger frets than the current P but has two mm type pups with acj type cobtrol plate. l added a pup selector switch. To my mind it has most of my favourite Leo Fender Ideas on one bass. The only thing that i'm not so keen on is the jaguar body shape but the sonic blue and matching headstock make up for that. The machine heads are cheap but functional. I would have to pay hundreds for something 'better' and the perceived value (being a stagg) is way lower than it's value to me as a great playing and sounding bass

More P-Bass Special Love!

It was the bass that pushed me over the edge into the Deep End while sexily whispering "find me…buy me…learn me" into my brain-ear. Even if it wasn't my first (she was damn hard to find, being discontinued, and all!), it'd take something just short of monumental to make me part with her.

What can I say? It's a love affair!

an early 60s Teisco bass that looks as cheap as a 20$ suit but has a certain charm and 60s boom that just sort of spits the notes out

A buddy of mine had the Fender version of that bass in the 80s. I think it was called a Jazz Bass Special.

That's exactly the bass I mentioned in my previous post. I really want one of those!

my ibanez gsr100. was given to me as a gift and it isnt worth enough to try and sell anyway. plus, the action's nice and low and the sound i get out of it with some dunlops nickels is pretty killer. with the jazz-like neck and low action it's a very comfortable and easy playing bass.

I seriously REGRET selling my Fury. It was sweet and played great but I needed a more "metal looking" bass so I sold it and bought a blue Jackson bass with a pointy headstock. BIG mistake.

Danelectro Longhorn I bought for $200 here on TB. It was originally right handed and I converted it to a lefty.

My SX! It's a very sweet bass and that has a Quartersawn neck to boot!

The most stable neck, along with my RV4, I have in my little herd. In the three years I had the bass, the neck may have been adjusted twice. And I set up my necks w/ very low relief. I'm really amazed at the stability of this neck. I just can't see selling such a great little inexpensive bass for practically nothing. So, I quess it'll stick around awhile!

That's excellent looking!! They need to do more of those and go back to that headstock!
