| | | | My P-bass copy is named Laura after the bassist of Superchunk, my Squire Strat is Kristina, my blue squire Jazz is baby blue, my tenor sax is Layla, and my alto sax is often just B****, cause it's not that great (It's a Bundy II).

anne: "sounded great tonight, whats that bass?"
me: "I call her anne"
then looking like a complete stalker |

She's my new #1... a fantastic Atkinson reproduction of an early '70s Fender...and she had just been named Farrah. But I do think the name Layla has possibilities! After all, she is articulate, sexy and very '70s.

My T-40 was named "Hog Leg" because it was heavy as a hog!
I just got a Cort B4FL that I've named "sexual chocolate" because of it's sexy unlined fretboard and it's dark in color (my lady LOVES this name - NOT lol!)
I have a Samick LP copy that has a tobacco burst so I named it "Tobacco Rose"
I have a Micheal Kelly Patriot LTD that's all black - named that one "Black Beauty"
Just got an EPI LP Standard bass last night - haven't named it yet, but it will come to me

After one, quite possibly my only performance that went through without any hiccups, I think I said, "Good Boy!" to my bass before putting it back in the case during tear-down.
On the opposite side, I don't think I said anything negative to it based on performances I wasn't quite happy with. Come to think of it, maybe I should have given the bass some sort of pep talk... "Why didn't you help me out there?" "Why can't you hit that first note on time following the YYZ-intro?" Haha!
