Anyone have any experience or heard any reviews on these basses? It sure looks kool...but I'm wondering what the neck is like, what they use for electronics, and what they sound like.
Thanks for any input !!
Denny

But no, I have not.

These were made in China of one piece of molded expanded plastic. The hardware and pickups were mostly Wilkinson. The guitars were OK, but took a lot of remedial work to deal with high frets and other QC issues typical to Chinese built instruments of that vintage.
These instruments were closed out cheaply, like $100-$250. The "Innovo" series were Switch's higher end.You don't say what "very little money," but there's your reference.
If I could find one of these that was a good example for under $200 I might consider it. If there were flaws in this Vibracell concept, I think it would show up worse in a bass than guitar.

| | | | I picked one up for around the same price. I had to set up the action myself, which was a chore due to the bridge butting up agains the wood where you need to insert the screwdriver. I actually had to remove the bridge and move the saddles back, then fine tune them vertically when I put it back on and re-strung. One I took care of the action and added a set of active EMGs, the thing plays amazingly well. I love mine, and with the EMGs, it's great for slap. For the construction/ components, it's a great value, but the stock pickups are bland to my mind. |

| | | | I see that you are from PA. I'm near Scranton/ WB, and you're welcome to try mine if you're local. I have a Fender Jazz bass and Jaguar Deluxe bass that I played on gigs this summer, but when I picked this up and fixed it up, I loved it. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
