Anyone know anything about these basses?

The information section of the video says that it's an Ibanez. Anyone know anything about these basses? I saw this video and was just curious.

That's an Ibanez Musician model. He played one from 80 or 81 IIRC in the Police. I have one in natural from 84 that is a fantastic instrument.

no it isn't the Musician model... I'm digging for the info on that model.. 888 & 999 were the numbers, I forget the letters in front.

I know where one is if you want it...

There one (used of course) in a local store. Can probably be had in the $200 range.

Is the used one you speak of fretless? If so I'd be very interested. PM me with the info if you don't mind. Many thanks!

Best,
Rob

Although it looks like the RB999GBM, it could also be the Musician MC888DS or "BEAN" bass.

http://www.ibanezregister.com/Galler.../gal-mc888.htm

I believe the main difference between the two is how the neck is attached -- the MC888DS is neck-thru-body and the RB999GBM is a bolt-on.
