Anyone know if Mike Browne still makes basses ?

Hello !

Mike Browne is an ex Carl Thompson workshop employee , is it right ? After leaving Carl's workshop he began to make basses for his own Brand called Mike Browne Designs . There is a web site but seems that it's abandoned. So :

1) Does he still make basses ?
2) If not, where is he ?

Thanks

5th one down is a Darrin Huff bass.

I'm pretty sure he retired from bass making years ago.

PM me your email and I'll forward to him.

I knew he had a day job because he sucks as a coach.

Brian Barrett at The Low End has a brand new one on his site, he could give you a straight answer.

I don't keep in contact with him but I did have a bass commissioned to be made by him in 2009. Unfortunately, he refunded my deposit and said he simply couldn't make it profitable at the rate he was going.

I ended up buying the used pink ivory and maple Gnome Browne but I agree with the sentiment that he made some of the most amazing basses! I really wish he would return to building.
