This all day. I won't even pick up a bass to goof around with that doesn't appeal to me visually.

I love Carvin quality, sound, playability & value. But I do think the headstock on the SB basses are um...unfortunate.

Well I believe you can get the normal headstock as an option on the SB's, which is a quite nice - I have it on my Bunny 4 and it's a good looking headstock.

The Bromberg also has a bit of a beak on it, though that's B2's preference. But I shouldn't rag too much because I'm a total Carvin lover. And my next bass is going to be a B2, beak or not, soon as I rustle up the money from somewhere.

I once owned a DeArmond Pilot 5 string. The Pilot was originally made by Guild. Nice basses, but they looked like a Jazz Bass that had been "stretched" horizontally.

I find the Bongo bass just nasty ugly!!! that being said when standing it feels and plays awesome & sounds great!if I had money to burn and the basses I wanted I'd probably get one that orange yellow colored one.

+1

But I think the body is just as ugly as the headstock.

I honestly think this is one of the coolest bassists I've seen in a long time. ... If only there was a place nearby to try one out.

(Yes. The singer and I were herbally medicated when that pic was taken. Some things never change).

Owned several. A 98 Jazz in Inca Silver, a Dean Rhapsody 8-string, an Ibanez Destroyer, and now my ugly bass is a white 95 P Lyte.

not sure if you're being funny Munji, but i can honestly say the same thing, unironically...is that bad?

of course it has to play and sound good for me to buy it, but i'm always initially attracted to looks and i won't buy something i hate the look of

I'm pretty sure I'd never own a pink glittered heart shaped bass made by Daisy Rock.

My first bass was a cheep one from AXL. Ugliest headstock I've ever seen but it grew on me. Aside from that it was just a P-bass body. http://www.axlguitars.com/basses/marquee-bass-series

I love my Mustang because of the way it plays and sounds, but I've never liked the way they look. However I do like the looks of the Fender Musicmaster. I know the only aesthetic difference is the pickguard and bridge but.......

First Act 32" scale POS. Solid body, horrible sound, horrible fat neck that was square halfway up, plastic chrome knobs, horrible pickups, bridge drilled off center so the strings were unevenly spaced, cheap electronics.

$15 on C-list in bad shape. It became an ebay parts special. I reshaped the neck profile, oiled the wood, cut the headstock, shimmed the neck pocket, added a high mass bridge, leveled the frets, 250k pots, vintage voiced pickups, medium scale chromes, a home made buffalo horn nut (cut from an old khukuri handle) and you can blame me for the diamond plate pickguard too. It's modeled after the flimsy pickguard that was peeling off. Another more traditional PG, as seen on my amp, is in the works.

It was a good proof of concept for some basic guitar work so the parts and labor were just tuition to me. With metal knobs (now removed) and the marquee sanded off it has received praise for sound and playability. Still one ugly little potbelly bass.

Still have my red and white Washburn Sarzo, just so I can post up in these threads when it comes up. Ugliest bass ever made, and sounds almost as bad as it looks. Shame, because it plays so nice it brings a tear to your eye, which is how I ended up blowing so much money on such a hideous thing.
