Anyone tried the new Yamaha TRBX basses?
Has anyone tried the new TRBX basses by Yamaha?
I am trying to hold off the GAS for a 5er, but the new Squier P´s and Jag´s are making it difficult!
And now, I came accross these TRBX's. They have a 4 and a 5 string version, and the thing that caught my eye is that they have a 5 way switch with preset EQ's that they say is for quick switching between EQ´s for Slap, Finger Style, Solo, etc.
I would be using this bass mainly for some Hip Hop projects, hence the low B, but I am wondering if this (with 2 humbuckers) would maybe fit the bill better than the P or PJ of the Squiers...?
These are the basses:
Thanks for the gas, man.
It seems that there are 2 versions, the 300 (4 string) and 305 (5 string) which have the preset EQ switch, and then the 500 & 505 which have an active/passive switch with no preset EQ.
I am guessing that it would be easier to add the active/passive switch at a later date than the preset switch.
I should really stop looking at basses!!!!
Great looking basses, always gotta love the stuff Yamaha makes. This is surprisingly finally flexible. I figured they would be all active, never thought they would have a bypass in a model.
I like the new lineup. I doubt I'll be changing my RBX375 for 305, though I'm intrigued by the TRBX505's pickups and preamp.
