The incorrect date relative to his death not withstanding...

Other than that, the bass posted in the ad looks like it's all there...except the finish.

I get the doubt here, but is it absolutely impossible- aside from the year claimed- for this to be legit? I am NOT voting one way or the other, but if the year bit is an honest mistake, and the guy is not really aware of what this might truly be worth..? I am curious as to the truth here.

| | | | So what ever happened here?
Any answers?
Yes, it just dawned on me I haven't read the last page of comments, and may find my answer there. Sorry! But why waste perfectly good phone typing?
Sooooo I'm posting this anyway, so there! |

Didn't he specifically mention getting the attention of collectors in the ad?

I am curious as to the truth here. | I emailed the seller and asked him to clarify the claim that he obtained the bass from Jaco in 1988. I asked if it was possible that he had the date wrong since Jaco died in 1987. Given the fact that its been almost one week since I sent the email and the seller hasn't responded, I'm of the opinion that it is a scam.

It doesn't pass any test of authenticity, other than a CL description, which takes 5 seconds to write. The bass doesn't resemble one he's been seen with, the description is laughable, and the price is stupid no matter who played it. Get real, or be prepared to lose your money, my friends!! |

It was a favor to a friend in another country, who would've been happy with the bass itself for the price. The fact that it may have been owned by Jaco was a plus but not the main reason my friend wanted it.
Maybe the seller fell over dead right after he posted the ad and is lying right next to the bass as we speak, his phone ringing and ringing and ringing... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
