Is that a reflection of your cabinet grill on the carpet or was it formerly face down to annoy someone/thing?

I wonder if that would offer sonic protection for me during ant season?

Immigrant, he was "aging" the sub-floor so it had a more pleasing tone as he walked over it.

Imagine doing that in an upstairs apartment. Plug in the five string, and loosen all light fixtures and ceiling hooks with plants hanging from them loose. Great fun!

Well, I'm not sure the Aria rates the Signature...

...but my new Brubaker does!

If only that Brubaker had the Aria headstock...

It's a seriously beautiful singlecut actually.

Help Me Fix This!

Aria lovers,

I've got an Aria Pro II Avante Series bass that is in great shape, as far as the wood, frets, etc. go. As for the electronics, not working. When I got it, it had disconnected wires and other wires that were not in the right place, I suspect. I've got some pix below.

Could someone answer the following for me:

1) Can someone with a similar electronics configuration send me a pic or a schematic of their bass?

2) Could someone tell me if I can use a different preamp with this (using the same pickups,) and, if so, what do you recommend?

3) Am I correct that the pickups are passive? I see no battery hookup (for that matter, I don't have one on the preamp either, which seems wrong.)

4) Am I right that the jazz-style pickups here are not the same size as a Fender Jazz? Pickups I pulled from another bass did not look like they would fit, so it seems like I need to use the stock ones. Correct?

5) And, finally, is this bass worth fussing over in the first place?

Pix, starting with electronics:

Ordered a SB1000 RI today. Japanese build, brand new from Jim at Atlanta Bass Gallery. Oak finish, beautiful grain. Can't wait. Wanted one since I saw Tony Butler of Big Country with his and since I was 16. Always been out of my reach until now. Will post pix when she arrives this week.

Subtlestew: Looks like a nice bass to me. I wouldn't kick her out of bed if she farted.

The pre-amp doesn't look stock to me. If I were going to add one I would consider an Aguilar OBP-3SK/PP: http://www.aguilaramp.com/products_preamps_obp3.htm

You're a little scant for control locations there though. An OBP-1 or 2 might be more realistic unless you have a swimming pool underneath than pickguard and are willing to add more locations. :-D

It is worth finding out more about what you have there first though.

I never noticed the links before so I watched the SB1000 review/pet show. A few times. Watching your dog get comfy was cool.

Edit: I also realize it looks weird on TB when avatars I associate with users disappear. I'm a head case.

Congratulating you on this thread also. This bass needs to be viewed by the masses.

Edit: Waiting for a photo of the back, please!

Looks like a winner, Anthony. By the way, what is the serial number start with on the back of the headstock? I'm just curious if they still start with the year of manufacture, for example 09xxx or 10xxx, etc.

Any chance of sound clips?
