ATK experts, now is your time

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....:B:BCA:AU:3166

What's your view on this? Is it legitimate? The bridge plate looks dead wrong to me — much more rectangular than it ought to be. I fed the serial through the Ibanez serials data base which said it was manufactured in the World factory, Korea, in 2002 — so how come it has the new headstock logo? I think the assertion that the seller bought this for $1600 is fairly obvious horse poop, but hey. What the hell does "seller refurbished" mean in this context either? There's no explanation given at all. Because yeah, it looks new or almost so. And the machines look like the ones off the ATK200.

Hats off, detectives, we're going down to Russell St!* Start your engines!

I await your collective expertise.

The link doesn't work for me, but your description sounds like it's an ATK1300, which was a Prestige model. It had a square bridge and a Jazz neck pickup, and probably did list in the $1600 range.
If this is the bass, then it's very authentic.

I learn something new every time I read stuff on TB. I was under the impression that the Ibby Prestige models were all MIJ.

That being said, I'd wait and save up more money for a new ATK-805, in your case, an 804.

Prestige are MIJ. This is not a Prestige.

It is however a beautiful ATK400TB
