B Standard on a short scale?

With a proper setup and heavy enough strings, could I tune down to B Standard (BEAD) tuning on a short scale bass comfortably and without intonation problems or fret buzz?

Just out of curiosity, where would You find a short scale 5 string set?
I do admit that I haven't really looked at short scale strings lately, but back in the day the lack of strings was about the only thing that held me back.
On short scales in general.

How short are you considering short scale. I play medium scale five stringed basses that are 32" length. My basses came with Curt Mangan strings. Hope this helps.
