The coolest thing about that clip (for me as one who played full time in that era) was the shot at the beginning of the two keyboard players, each with 5 or 6 keyboards!!!! I remember hauling those B3's and string ensembles and clavinets and rhodes and acrosonics and moogs, etc. Back then (for you kids) every different 'sound' needed an entire separate keyboard. I don't miss that, but it was pretty bada** looking on stage, and I've yet to hear samples that get 100% there.

I don't have a Rick, so that's not an option for me. Please choose from one of the following:
1 - P-Bass with 62 Pickups
2 - Jazz Bass Am Deluxe
3 - Stingray HS
4 - Gibson SG | Dude ... the bass won't matter ... what will matter is if you can cop the falsetto tremelo vocals ... How to grown men sing that high?

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.

I've been battling bronchitis for the past 16 days and much of that was spent in bed. During my awake times I've been Netflix mainlining and just a few days ago watched a great documentary on the Bee Gees. I've been a fan of the group since day one and even through their disco years and into the last couple of decades as they evolved from the stage to writing for other arrtists. The talent level among the three of them is incredible. One interesting thing I learned from the documentary is that Barry has played guitar in open E from the very beginning when they were just lads of 5 (the twins) & 8 yrs old when they first started singing together. I always noticed his chording and knew he was in open tuning but to think that almost every song he's written was constructed from his open tuning references is pretty amazing.
I can only imagine how the loss of his two twin brothers has affected him as an artist.

Also, make that old tune your own. Just like the old Motown stuff, etc., there is nothing wrong with 'updating' the tone a bit, and even the feel and line somewhat, as long as you respect the tune. Once a tune is that old, the rules kind of go out the window for me. Make it sound good, make it feel good, don't worry about 'copying' everything exactly. | this.
