What a shock, a machine that plays mechanical music.

Folks, people have been working on this concept for about 200 years. No news here. The real shock is: why do musicians compose mechanical music? And why would we listen to it? And IF you have to have this kind of sound, why would you expect a human to play it?

I'd like it to try some YYZ. good luck with that.

btw, It plays with a pick. Is it now appropriate for that kind of thing to be frowned upon?

LOL, I can hear it now, "He would have made a robotic guitar, but this was easier 'cause the bass only has four strings!"

But I sure it was easier to build because it was bass. Less range, no chords, no bending, no whammy, etc.

I thought it was cool.

It'll never fit in a gig bag, so no worries.

There's one thing that this will never have, the "human factor". There's more to a bassline, than just having a clean automated bassline.
It's this human factor's inconsistencies, which make or break a song (IME).

you would understand if you had robot ears.....

j/k.... seriously though. What does this do that a synth and sequencer cant do for a lot cheaper and a lot smaller footprint? looks like a big waste of money to me.

Right. Can it do dynamics or extend the song on the fly when the crowd is jumping ("Hey, you, I thought I said go back to the bridge.").

Judging by the bass department at Guitar Center on any given day, that's already happened. Heh.

...and how long do we suppose it takes to get this thing set up to play one song? I think my job is safe.
