A bass that some may find visually appealing while others may not

Beautiful...in my opinion. And the perfect bass to play in a Blues band.

M. M.

Edit: My post was worded in response to the original title of this thread.

yeah, i agree. but i would love to play it once. if you have ever played a bass with a ramp between the pickups... i bet it would feel pretty cool the way it's all fingerboard like that. cool idea

IMO Ritter's are beautiful sculptures, and hideous instruments.

They do sound wonderful though.

I'm in NY too, maybe he'll let me off the hook for the $250 shipping.

I'm expressing my dislike of an inanimate object I found on eBay. If the seller is a TBer, I humbly apologize.

It's the purple strings that are unsettling.

Who makes those strings? Is that a DR coated string?

One man's trash is another man's wife. If that person bashed your bass, you'd be calling him a snob, right?

Agreed, they definitely detract from an otherwise artfully designed and executed instrument.

I've never built a bass, but if someone didn't like it I think I'd be ok with it. Lot's of people hate flying V basses. I'm sure Gibson/Epiphone is ok with it.

Read the rules- you can only bash your own bass.
On topic, I like it but doubt the ergonomics would work for me. I'll likely never know.
And now, back to the *dislike-fest*

I've politically corrected the title. I'm very sorry.

Dingwall combustion could be another example. I recently picked one up and really like the body style, but the somewhat cream colour and the body style turn some people away from it.

Doesn't mean it sounds any less awesome though.

That's why everyone has Fenders. People bashing their aesthetics have no foot to stand on.

That's a unique looking bass. I wouldn't be caught dead with of, but that's not my style. I like a subtler approach. Also, fanned frets niggle me. So I just go after basses I like, as opposed to ones I like less.

I like that bass, purple stings and all. But $15k for a 5-string fretless won't happen.

I would have preferred a single scale length, but I wanted the low B to work well and it does.

It'd look perfect for a set of Merle Haggard covers.
