There is really a rule about giving your opinion on a bass if it is a negative one? Doesn't seem like much a forum if only opinion is allowed to be put out there.

I personally like it, I also really like the pink strings for the visual contrast. I have never played a Ritter, I would never buy one but I would love to try one. I could definitely see how people didn't like this thing, and I can only imagine the look of horror on most bandmates faces when this comes out the hardshell case.

It looks cool!

Yet, my fingers and mind will never "see" it. So.........?

Not bashing here, but I just don't like it.

I kinda like it, extreme as it is. The Ritter body shape usually looks a little too flashy and curly for me, but in this case the rest of the instrument sort of keeps pace with it and it works for my eye.

The strings might be the DR "Purple Passion" set. (Interesting name...if you were a teenage boy in the 1980s you might have the same association with it that I do. Surely it's just a coincidence.)

Without meaning to put words in the owner's mouth, I think they've got to know that this is an instrument that's going to inspire strong aesthetic reactions in all directions!

I love Ritter's designs. I also like the design of the MusicMan Bongo, but many others do not.

I think this thing is just out of this world! Would I play it in a band setting?? Heck yes! I don't give a damn about what anyone would say. Especially for that price, SO LONG AS the thing actually sounds good.

However, it just seems to me like these are really showroom pieces. Elite of the elite. I have heard them and they do sound fantastic.

I prefer the new thread title.

If I had Mittmoney, I'd buy it. It looks real comfy.

Lots of folks don't like what they can't afford. I'm not saying that's the case here but I'll bet you the following. When this thread finally runs its course and you then gave ten million tax-free dollars to every poster who participated, some of the naysayers would be trying to buy this bass...and a few more like it. Often, beauty is in the eye of the pocketbook.

I disagree. I think that if I was given ten million dollars, I would buy things that I like..... I would buy a rosso corsa (racing red) Ferrari, because I like them and desire one. Money wouldn't somehow make me want to buy a purple Lamborgini Diablo.

I don't want to be "that guy" because there's already too many here, but maybe a quick read of the rules is in order for some.

There is a special addendum concerning Bongo = toilet seat, and that tiger guy will kick yer A straight outta here.

If I had written the post I'm referring to, I'd be editing posthaste.

Beautiful!
Looks like it should leave a slime trail wherever it goes.

I broke the rules when I posted this. I've since learned better and now I have no opinion on this bass whatsover. It is a bass guitar.

Yep. I stated in post 28 that the new thread title is better. As for the Bongo reference, it wasn't aimed at you or specifically anyone else even though I read it here in a post. Not my business, anyway.

I just know how I'd feel if I wasn't familiar with the rules, broke one or a few, received infractions or a banning. I'd miss the wealth of info found here although I could still read it all. I guess I'd miss the ability to ask a question.

I can see this thread being closed at any point.
However, for me, CT's are a bit ornate for my tastes. Just something about the upper horn, and some of the wood choices.
NBD... IMHO... YMMV... blah, blah...

I think Ritter stuff looks pretty in isolation, but they would look a bit (understatement) out of place on me. And, I imagine, most other bass players.

It's the same reason I don't wear a massive gold medallion and a white leather onesie.
