A dude just hit me with a trade. 1989 Fender Power Jazz. I was asking $1000 or MIJ/MIA fender or Musicman basses. He also offered a new MIA P bass. Black on black Rosewood fretboard. Don't like it. But I dig the Power Jazz. I'd never heard of these until today. Dunno what they're even worth! Your thoughts?

great neck, great sound.
If it were me, I'd do the trade.

There could be a deeper reason he is looking to get rid of the gear - maybe he lost interest or maybe he is sick of dealing with all of the issues on THOSE particular instruments. Do you really want to deal with that? I personally rather get one GOOD instrument in a trade rather than a slew of "ok" instruments. |

JMHO | I look at it like this. I don't want the redhead. I love playing different basses and trying different sounds. If I get cash, my wife will put it away in the bank, which is a good thing. But If I trade, I get 2 new toys!
