bongos are awesome basses. the build quality is very high for the price point. you can expect a change in overall ergonomics to some degree, which you would experience with any bass that's completely different from the one you're currently using. for me, because of the way the bongo hangs, it can be kind of a reach to fret the lower notes. you will probably not be disappointed with the versatility of a bongo, that's one of their strong points. the blend knob is extremely sensitive, so there's a ludicrous amount of different sounds available just by turning it in tiny increments. the tone is strongest in the deep lows and high mids. I found it to be a bass that took some EQing to get the right sound, as opposed to just plugging it in and loving the first thing that came out. anyway it's a nice bass but pretty different from any ibanez. you could use musicians friend's 45 day return policy to try one.
