| | | | The funny thing while Entwistle will always be associated with the iconic Buzzard bass- he actually only played it for a BRIEF part of his overall stage time. Much more of what he played and recorded is various P-Basses Thunderbirds, etc... |

This was pretty much his most beloved and recognizable (live at Leeds) precision format before he jumped to Tbirds. Basically it comes down to which era you are aiming for but a precision will cover them all well.

He put it together from the parts of two or three smashed basses, so it's that maple neck and a pink ("salmon" body from an early '60s slab Precision. So she actually looked like this:

We'll see. If it was me, I'd look into a used Gibson T-Bird, but have no clue what those go for.

An Epiphone would have a hard time getting it as well unless you replaced the pickups with the Lollar or Lull T-birds, which are true representations of the original T-Birds pickups. I shouldn't say they won't be in the "ballpark"...they will possess some of a humbuckers characteristics but nothing like the low growl of the originals, IMO.

Of course the used american Fenders can be had in the 700-800 range. Sometimes you can find standard Gibson Thunderbirds for a really good price if you don't mind a headstock repair.

Those that are listed have had the price removed.
