Nice photo flame. I wish they still had these. I bet that looks great without a guard.

Every bass o' mine I got used and was either a good deal or a damn great deal! In order of acquisition;

Fender Aerodyne (2007 CIJ): $376 shipped from a pawn shop down in Alabama (they have a website and will send pics). It has some chips in the paint here and there, but it was in magnificent condition. Had it set-up and all they had to do was restring it and clean out the pots.

Squier Standard P-Bass Special (probably 2007-08, CII, Refurbished): $250 shipped from fretjoe. My absolute favorite!

Squier Affinity Jazz Bass: $115 from Musician's Friend. Barely used, sounded great, only had one ding on the underside. My first "beater/travel bass".

Squier Standard Jazz Bass (2008, CII): $285 including shipping, stand, gig bag and instructional book w/. CD & DVD.

Squier Deluxe Jazz Active V (2009, CII): Traded the Affinity Jazz to subsidize this purchase. $259 shipped, before trade-in.

Squier Standard P-Bass Special (2000, CII): (is there a pattern here?!) I just got this yesterday for $100, before shipping ($10) and a one-year protection plan ($15). So the total is a tidy $125. I wanted another "beater/travel bass" (thus the protection plan) and I saw this, and since I love the P/J configuration and the Jazz neck, it was a no-brainer, especially for the price.

Here's the "usual suspects", sans the Affinity, which I sold before taking these pics, and the newly acquired P-Bass Special, which is in a nice sunburst color. Once I turn the pickguard black and maybe throw on some DR Black Beauties, I'll add the new pics.

I felt a great disturbance in Las Vegas…as if thousands of Elvis impersonators cried out and then suddenly left the building.

Got my '69 Gibson EB-2 in Cherry finish(with factory custom dual large humbuckers and stereo outputs) for $200 in 1990. No case, no broken headstock, plays/sounds like a dream. Bought a case for $100.

I got my 6 string Spector brand new from my local music shop 350$, I couldn't refuse it at that price. To sweeten the deal, it plays better than the other dozen or so basses I had tried at the time!
