Beautiful Modded ESP J 205

In effort to make a mock Alleva Coppola that I tried recently (loved, but $5K for a J??) I bought a ESP J-205 to mod...heavily!

Always loved Tom Barney and his ESP 5 string and the Alleva I tried featured the Tom Barney smaller sting spacing. I slap about 1% of the time and have tired over 19mm SS on 5 stings. This bass features .669 that is great and definitely negotiable.

-I swapped the tuners for Hipshot UL with the round ears
-Bone nut
-Lindy Fralin rewound the stock pickups and installed alnico rods (YOU WILL NOT FIND REPLACEMENT PICKUPS FOR THESE)
-Installed threaded inserts in the neck (No dead spots!)
-hipshot vintage bridge
-beautiful celluloid guard
-passive electronics featuring a tone styler
-flush mounted the straplocks
-stripped the rear of the neck and finished in a waterlox/tru oil combo
-full set up and fret work

It is awesome! I can compare to a lot of things costing 6x (!!) more and it wins!!

Let me know what you think!

So the Ltd LDJ Pickups aren't EMG J5 clones?

Bass looks great. I'm planning to pickup an ash one and make it fretless.

All the best,

I like the pointy body horns, reminiscent of the first generation Hamer Cruise basses.
I like narrow string spacing as well.
