Beech as a tone wood
Hey all, Im considering ordering an Alembic. I like the look of spalted beech for a top&back, but what are its tonal qualities?

If you put it up to your ear you can hear the ocean.

It looks great, therefore, it sounds great.
Tone is highly visual...

If it pleases you aesthetically go for it. It is going to sound like an Alembic.

Answer: like an alembic.
If they can make great sounding guitars out of acrylic, graphite, And CF you should be fine with your beech.

Just an afterthought...
I can't decide between a Triple Omega and Darling body shape.
Spalted wood tends to be soft, but the bridge mount will probably not be directly to the soft top on an Alembic. :) You know dey spensive, right?
