Being Buried With Your Favorite Bass?

I was having a discussion today and a friend of mine who has some expensive vintage Fender and Gibson basses said he wants to be buried with two of his basses and 62' Jazz and a 59' Precision they both are mint. I said they should be on display somewhere in a museum. I was worried about someone robbing his grave and making off with them. I was wondering what other people thought about it and what bass would you choose. If I had to choose it would my 68 Greco violin bass my first bass that has zero monetary value.

I think you should PM me his grave site as soon as they plant him.

I would give all of my music oriented possessions to someone younger who has the passion to play and perform. Just because humans can't live forever, doesn't mean our basses/instruments can't.

The thought of my favorite bass mouldering 6 feet underground is somehow more disturbing than the thought of being dead.

I bet you could pull it out thirty years later and it would still play the neck might need some attention.

A bass that someone was buried with may be an excellent candidate for metal

Not getting buried. I'm going out in a Viking Funeral.

I will lie in a wooden canoe.
On my breast my Sam Murray wooden flute will ride with me for eternity.
360 Mapleglo to my right;
4004cii to my left.
They will tow me to the middle of Lake Champlain.
My pire shall light the northern wastes
For as long as the sun sets
and the moon rises.

I've probably put too much thought into this

+1
Or my loved ones can sell it. I'd be dead and wouldn't care.

The Red Violin comes to mind. . .

The grave will probably be looted in 2234 by martian/human hybrids and they will be even more funky!

I'd have it frozen along with my head so in the future when they thaw it out and surgically reattach it to an orangutan's body I'll have something within reach of my red furry arms.

You have to be pretty gullible to believe the people placing you in the ground are burying you with your gold teeth, jewelry or bass. An hour after you leave they surely help themselves to the valuables. As for taking them with you, that sounds like a selfish motivation and speaks volumes about the person.
