I am sorry it has taken so long to post these pics. These past two weeks have been crazy, an I am starting to wonder what I was smoking when I decided to work full time and go to school at nights, all while maintaining my client business. But you didn't click on this link to hear me bitch an moan about my schedule.

First off is a beautiful Woodstock Spector NS-JH5. It somehow manages to be a solid quilted maple bass while weighing only 8.5 pounds. This is my first 35" scale bass, and so far, I am really liking it. That extra inch gives me a much more define tone across all the strings, not just the low B, and I can still do the chordal stuff that will insure I never get a gig in my life. The preamp is a little screwy in that whenever I dime the mids (which I always do) it cuts the volume dramatically, but that should be a simple enough fix. Otherwise, I love this bass, and the fact that it was made in the state I call my home makes me love it that much more.

The second bass is a Kramer XL8 aluminum neck 8 string. I have played with this one a lot less than the Spector as it needs some TLC, but I think that once I fix it up again, it will be staying with me for a while. An 8 string has been on my GAS list for a while, as has an aluminum necked bass, so I was quite happy when I was able to kill two birds with one stone.

Thanks. I am not sure if the neck has developed a backbow or the bridge just needs adjusting. I hope it is the latter as I hear these do not have truss rods. I have let it sit for the past week with the strings loosened. That may help things.
