-Tone (versatile|round, punchy {jazz, Rick, etc.})
-Comfort (no sharp edges or flimsy necks)
-Looks (preferably nat. gloss/satin)
-Reliability/construction (won't fall apart)
-Electronics (no crappy wiring ea. Affinity) |

I own a peavey millennium bxp 4-string bass for my brother's band and it sounded pretty cool. not only does my band mates from my brother's band like the bass, but so does friends and family. I will be purchasing a 5-string version for my band real soon. |

| | | or you might consider a kit? Carvin has a kit where you can choose options, finish the wood how you prefer etc right around $400. I have two with swamp ash bodies natural finish and I love them both. For the price you cant beat it. Theyre real easy to put together (if I can do it.... and its nice knowing you kinda built it yourself.
just a thought |

A few cosmetic exceptions and the difference of the pup coils but honestly its a great bass for the money. I just drove back from northern Florida and stopped in a few music stores and played a Mexican J & P and thought they were great when you take into consideration the cost. (Sarasota Fl/ Guitar Center SWR Super Red Head 400.00) sounded pretty nice!!!! Good luck with your search try to hold it in your hand as opposed to shipping one unless you know the brand and model well. Doc | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
