Best bass for a "guitar" tone
So I was reading an interview with the bass player from Red Fang and he mentioned he digs his G&L SB bass because it sounds very "guitar-like". I believe in this case he meant it had a very mid heavy character but I found the description to be interesting. Ex: a passive precision would probably seem more "guitar-like" than an active Fodera.
In one of my current projects I use my bass to fill in the rhythm guitar section and find that having a midrange heavy almost "twangy" tone seems to fill out the sound quite nicely.
So here is my question. In your opinion, what is the most "guitar-like" sounding bass?

It's gotta be a Fender Bass VI

When playing chords my G&L M2500 sounds very guitar like.

The "mid-range twangy tone" that you are talking about is what the Rickenbacker is all about.

Alot of his tone is from the Sunn Beta amps he uses as well, which are very middy. I have one, power chords on my p bass sound super crunchy and awesome.
