For myself, I was thinking the other day that the best bass related thing I ever bought was Ed Friedland's books, starting with Building Walking Bass Lines. They taught me a heckuva lot. Ed really opened up the world of bass to me in his books. I am not a "natural" musician, I had to work at it (I still do) and his books really showed me the way.
What about you?

And of course, the ever watchful guard mutt.
Also, the tools that I bought a few years back when I started building basses. Being able to work on my own basses has saved me hundreds. |

That and the my recent emperor cab. Maybe its just cause its newest, and yeah there are better cabs out there or things I wish were different about it (sooooooo heavy)but it gives me the tone I want, and no matter what I do to the eq its a tone I like. My favorite cab I've ever personally played (maybe except for a mesaboogie for which I have gas) |
