No more binders, no more lost bits of note paper with chords scribbled on it. I also use several apps to practice reading music too.
I got to say that the best bass I bought this year was a G&L ASAT. I love th e electronics, feel, and everything else. I also rediscovered DR Lo-Riders which was pretty nice.
The piece of kit that I bought but have yet to try is a P-Retro. Waiting for my P-bass to be finished before it goes in.

I played with a pick a million years ago when I initially learned to play bass. Since then I have only played without picks; mostly index-middle finger picking but also some thumb slapping.
My new 3 piece band requires me to play the bass more agressively with a pick to hold down parts where there might normally be a guitar. This helps me do that, it gives me more attack.
I am using grey Dunlop 1.0 picks with lots of the grip dots.
edit: I don't play all songs with a pick, just the ones that fit.

The Zoom has become not only a great stand alone effects processor but a super practice tool with its on board drum patterns.
The Spector is something I've been looking for since I sold mine in 1988.
Have purchased a few other items but these would be the standouts. |
